Overview
Eric Wise has spent the better part of 43 years involved in racing. Born into a racing family in Southern California Eric developed a passion for racing at an early age and brings that passion to Baker Curb Racing’s Development Program. Since coming on board as the Director of Development he has designed three distinctive development programs NASCAR Camping World East Series, ARCA RE/MAX Series and NASCAR / ASA Late Model teams; with the goal of being true stepping stone for the future NASCAR stars. Eric’s experience as a car owner combined with the knowledge of developing young drivers make him an integral part of the future success of Baker Curb Racing
His Father, Charlie Wise, was a leading car owner and mechanic in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s winning a NMRA Championship in 1973 and races at tracks like legendary Ascot Park, Saugus Speedway, El Toro, 605 and Trojan Speedway.
Eric passed the family’s passion for racing through the bloodlines to his son Josh. At age 7 Josh began racing Quarter Midgets and worked his way through Midgets and Sprint Car’s under Eric’s guidance. Josh’s open wheel success caught the attention of NASCAR champ Tony Stewart who moved Josh to Indianapolis and gave him a ride on his USAC team. Josh went on to win two USAC Championships (National Midget and Sprint Car) for Stewart and currently is in a driver development contract with Michael Waltrip Racing. He made 16 starts in the Nationwide No. 00 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota during the 2008 season and his best finish was fifth-place at O'Reilly Raceway Park.
Grubb brings experience both inside and outside the car to the Baker Curb Development Team which will be very beneficial to Tommy Joe Martins.
Last season Grubb was the car chief on the No. 27 Kleenex racing Ford Fusion after holding the same position on the No. 66 and No. 37 cars with Brewco Motor sports from 2005 to 2007.
As a driver Grubb made 37 starts over four seasons in the Nationwide Series in the Grubb Motorsports No. 83 compiling twoTop-5’s, 3 Top-10’s and capturing one pole along the way. He also competed in Late Model’s at many tracks along the east coast earning 56 wins in 272 starts from 1994 – 2003.
